The 6BT Cummins 5.9-liter engine had a 102.2mm (4.02”) bore with a 119.9mm (4.72”) stroke. With two valves per cylinder, the compression ratio was 17.5:1 and the result was a strong 215hp at 2,500 rpm. Maximum torque on this Cummins Turbo Diesel was 440lb-ft at 1600 rpm.

This water-cooled engine was built with cast iron block and head for a dry weight of 1,100 pounds. The turbocharger was built by Holsett Engineering.
